The Evalea Success Story of Personnel Development
This article is about a very personal topic, namely our success story in personnel development. We would like to give you a few insights into the development of Evalea here. Why we do what we do and what makes our personnel development product special. We hope you enjoy our little journey through time.
In the Beginning there was the Idea
David and Timo, the two founders of Evalea, came across a study in 2013 that found that 83% of companies offer training for their employees, but only 8% check the transfer of learning in practice. Both of them had already experienced this in practice. Although companies train employees, the question of whether this is done in a targeted manner usually remains unanswered. Financial and time resources may be used incorrectly or inefficiently because the data necessary for the assessment is missing or can only be collected with great effort.
In addition, there are the changed demands of the labor market on employees in organizations. In a constantly changing environment, constant learning processes are indispensable, because holistic change always requires individual change. Evalea was intended to solve these problems and help organizations to make the development of their employees more efficient, more digital, more resource-efficient and, above all, more sustainable. The focus is on the employees, as no company can ever succeed without them.
The Development of the Software
For this reason, it all began in Bayreuth in 2014 with the Evaluation module, because the founders saw the greatest potential for digitization here. However, the long-term goal of Evalea has always been to offer holistic personnel development for companies and thus to cover all necessary areas with one software product.
In 2017, seminar management followed as a further module, so that further training measures can now also be better planned, organised and carried out in a structured manner. Just one year later, the modules Goal Management and Learning Journey followed, so that the further training measures are directly linked to set goals and can be planned in the Learning Journey and the development path can be recorded.
In 2019, the modules competence management and employee appraisal were added. In most companies, the appraisal interview is a very important part of personnel development, but it is often still associated with a lot of administrative effort. Evalea digitizes this process so that results are clearly recorded in one place and can be linked to goals or competencies that arise during the interview, for example. From here on, the longer-term and organizational perspective was also integrated into the software.
The modules E-Learning and Survey & 360° Feedback will then round off the software completely in 2020, so that all essential areas of personnel development are now available and can be managed holistically with a single tool.
In 2021, we also went out of the start-up center, directly into our own friendly Evalea office building. We have even been able to compile the development here on the basis of some photos.
What Makes Our Success Story in Personnel Development So Special?
What distinguishes Evalea is not only its holistic, but above all its practice-oriented approach. All extensions to the modules and features have always been created from the requirements of our customers. This means that every time our customers faced a problem in practice, we developed a solution for it in the software. In order to remain true to this concept in the future, the Evalea Personnel Development ThinkTank was founded at the beginning of the year. In this meeting, we regularly present suggestions for improvement from our customers or ideas from strategic development and let our customers vote for themselves on which of them should be implemented.
The Evalea Spirit
There is a lot of work and heart and soul behind Evalea, because it is important to us to offer the best for our customers. But all this is only possible thanks to the people who work for us. Together, we want to help develop people in companies properly and thus ensure that they can adapt to changing requirements. This is what ultimately makes the employees, but also the company as a whole, successful. Trust and transparent and open communication within the team and with our customers are particularly important to us. We value individuality and attach great importance to flexibility, freedom and fun at work, so that no obstacles are put in the way of top performance. A harmonious and respectful working atmosphere is an absolute must for us. In addition, we live a constructive and open error culture so that we can learn from each other together and grow beyond ourselves.
